“Sliding door? Pretzel? Basket? — No, we’re not opening a furniture store, we’re dancing disco fox!”
When suddenly in our clubhouse terms like “Sliding door”, “pretzel”, “basket” or even “sombrero” buzzing around the room, outsiders might think of a leisurely shopping trip or a tasty snack. But far from it! This isn’t about food or shopping – We are talking about figures from disco fox!
And it was precisely this fun of twisting and wrapping that Marco Kühne on April 26, 2025 our dance couples at his Discofox workshop closer. From 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. There wasn’t just sweating and laughter – there was also a lot of tying up. But first things first:
The beginners started off with lots of humor and commitment Marco showed the Basics of Discofox – basic steps, small turns and of course first attempts at the legendary dance figures. Many an arm quickly transformed into a living work of art made of knots and bows. But don’t worry: Untying included!

After a After a short break, the advanced students were allowed to. And this is where things got really wild: Turns in series, figures such as “sombrero” and “rocking step” were tried out. The sliding door opened, closed, and then spun around twice more. Fun? Lots of it! Getting lost? Maybe briefly in between! But Marco was there.
With lots of energy, humor and the right amount of music From slow to fast, Marco managed to get all the dance couples to guide through the jungle of figuresAnd even if not every step was perfect in the end – one thing is certain: the arms of all participants were successfully untied!

Do some people’s heads still spin? Well… that will probably only be revealed at the next workshop!
