This year the national championship in Latin American dances took place mainly on the last weekend in January, with the main group taking place in Berlin at the end of February.
On Saturday, January 25th, 2020, the 1st TSC Frankfurt (Oder) was represented by several couples from the children’s and youth sector at the Berlin dance school “Broadway”, but unfortunately the luck of the tournament was not on our side. Cancellations due to illness prevented us from starting in the children’s D class and the senior ID class. Falk Korndörfer and Katarzyna Rybinska did not have to compete against their club mates (Georg Winzer / Edda Tuchscheerer-Ehrhardt), but were able to win the runner-up national championship title with a second place.
Coach Martin Lutz saw his last chance that day on the senior II‑C couple Stefan Scholz and Anna Lunk, who brought a state championship title to Frankfurt (Oder) with a 2nd place out of 8 couples in the overall tournament, including 6 from Brandenburg . Dirk and Ramona Vogel, who train in Lübben but compete for our club, became runner-up national champions in the senior II‑D class.
On Sunday, January 26, 2020, our adult couples had more success. Rico Dietzsch and Liset Fischer won the national championship title in the senior IB class and Martin Lutz and Sabine Meusel in the senior IS class.
On Saturday, February 29, 2020, Falk Korndörfer and Katarzyna Rybinska won the runner-up national championship title in main group II D and were promoted to the Latin C class.
Since the tournament results are often the best motivation for further training, we can look forward to the upcoming tournaments, because “After the tournament is before the tournament!”
